One Federal Place

Birmingham, Alabama
3008-8 300dpi Green 8.5x11.tif

One Federal Place was played a significant role in revitalizing downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The 13-story 310,000 square foot “build to suit” office building sits on a 5 level, 450 space podium parking structure. The building includes street-level retail and restaurant space to serve as an activator to pedestrian traffic.

The building's architectural influence stems from the neighboring “turn-of-the century” historic Federal Reserve Bank Building. A reinterpretation of this federalist architectural style was used as the design for the new office tower and the base of the building. The historic Federal Reserve Bank Building is connected to the new office tower at street level with an urban pocket park. The building lobby is designed with a polished stone floor, wood veneer panels and a painting commissioned by a native Birmingham artist.
