Mariner Grove

Savannah, Georgia
Mariner Grove Savannah Georgia 08.jpg

This urban multi-family development is designed with the young professional in mind and is sited on a former shipyard adjacent to the Savannah historic district.  These luxurious 312 contemporary studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments were designed with high-end finishes and amenities such as poolside cabanas, a fitness center, bocce ball court, and a convenient pet park.

The site concept developed into three “U Shape” buildings accommodating the Live Oak trees and defining the pedestrian space while allowing the on-grade parking to be placed at the perimeter of the site.

The site plan includes a four-acre park in the center of the development with a clubhouse and saltwater pool to create a park-like setting.  Twenty-five oak trees, most over two hundred years old, were saved for this park-like setting.  The project team worked closely with an arborist to determine which trees would remain.  Based on the site planning, the City of Savannah set a new standard for all future planning within the city limits.
